SFA unveils its 2026-27 schedule ahead of another season of championship pursuit
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The SFA Ladyjacks Women's Basketball team has announced its 2026-27 schedule as the defending back-to-back Southland Conference Tournament champions prepare to make another run under Head Coach Leonard Bishop.
Season Opener
The season tips off with an exciting ISD Day matchup against the University of Dallas on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. in Nacogdoches. The matchup marks the first-ever meeting between the Ladyjacks and Crusaders. SFA has won four consecutive home openers dating back to the 2022 season.
Power Four Road Trips
The Ladyjacks will face their first Power Four opponent of the season when they travel to Houston on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The contest marks SFA's first trip to Houston since the 2020 season. The Ladyjacks have won eight of the last 10 meetings against the Cougars, including an 87-82 victory last season in Nacogdoches.
SFA closes its Power Four slate with a trip to Kansas State on Sunday, Dec. 6. The Ladyjacks trail the all-time series 3-2 and will look to even the series this season. The last meeting took place during the 2017-18 season, when the Wildcats earned a 74-49 victory. SFA's last win over Kansas State came in 1987 with an 82-59 win in Dallas.
Southland Conference Play
The Ladyjacks will travel to the Southland Conference Tournament from March 8-11, where they will seek a third consecutive tournament championship, the first of such since 1998 to 2000, and a third straight berth in the NCAA Tournament.

- The Ladyjacks and Lady Demons meet for the 92nd and 93rd time in series history, with SFA holding a commanding 69-22 advantage. The Ladyjacks have won 13 consecutive meetings, a streak that includes a 114-58 victory in 2021, marking the 61st time in program history SFA eclipsed the 100-point mark.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi: Dec. 17 (Away) | Feb. 11 (Home)
- SFA and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi meet for the 31st and 32nd time in series history. The Ladyjacks own a 27-4 all-time advantage and have won seven consecutive meetings dating back to 2020. The Islanders' last victory in the series came during the 2019 Southland Conference Tournament.
- McNeese: Dec. 31 (Away) | Jan. 23 (Home)
- The Ladyjacks and Cowgirls will meet for the 68th and 69th time in a rivalry spanning more than four decades. SFA owns a 52-15 advantage in the all-time series and has won 11 of the last 15 meetings. The programs most recently met in the 2026 Southland Conference Tournament Championship game.
- Southeastern Louisiana: Jan. 2 (Home) | Jan. 21 (Away)
- The Lady Lions and Ladyjacks square off for the 49th and 50th meetings in series history. SFA owns a 42-6 advantage in the all-time series, which dates to 1977, and has won eight of the last 10 contests.
- UIW: Jan. 7 (Away) | Feb. 25 (Home)
- The Ladyjacks and Cardinals will meet for the 18th and 19th time, with SFA holding a 17-1 record in the series. The first meeting came in 2014 when the Ladyjacks earned a 79-59 victory.
- HCU: Jan. 9 (Away) | Feb. 27 (Home)
- SFA and HCU will square off for the 19th and 20th meetings in series history. The Ladyjacks own a 17-1 record against the Huskies, with HCU's lone victory coming in 2015.
- Nicholls: Jan. 14 (Home) | Feb. 20 (Away)
- SFA owns a 52-8 advantage in the all-time series against Nicholls. Seven of the Colonels' eight wins have come since 2000, while the first came in the inaugural meeting between the programs in 1985.
- LSU-New Orleans: Jan. 16 (Home) | Feb. 18 (Away)
- The Ladyjacks and Privateers meet for the 18th and 19th time, with SFA holding a 13-4 advantage in the series. The Ladyjacks enter the season riding a six-game winning streak. Two of New Orleans' four victories came in the first meeting in 1984 and again in 2007.
- East Texas A&M: Jan. 28 (Away) | Feb. 4 (Home)
- The Ladyjacks and Lions meet for the 12th and 13th time in series history. SFA owns a 9-2 advantage all-time, though East Texas A&M has claimed each of the last two meetings after the Ladyjacks won the first nine contests.
- Lamar: Feb. 6 (Away) | Mar. 1 (Home)
- The Ladyjacks and Cardinals will meet for the 81st and 82nd time in series history, with SFA holding a 62-18 advantage in the all-time series. The programs last met in the semifinals of the 2026 Southland Conference Tournament, where the Ladyjacks earned a 64-59 overtime victory over Lamar. The March 1 contest in Nacogdoches will serve as SFA's regular-season home finale before the Ladyjacks begin postseason play.
- UTRGV: Feb. 13 (Home) | Dec. 19 (Away)
- SFA and UTRGV meet for the 19th and 20th time in series history. The Ladyjacks own a 13-5 advantage in the all-time series, though the programs have split their last 10 meetings with five wins apiece since 2022.
