Distance Jacks in California for Bryan Clay Invitational

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Several distance Jacks are in action week this week out west in California. Stephen F. Austin will send several male and female runners to the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azuza Pacific University on Thursday, April 16 through Saturday, April 18. THURSDAY
Zach McPhee and Garance Dubray open action in the 3000m Steeplechase. McPhee posted a fourth-place finish in the event at the Carl Kight with a time of 9:23.53; his first effort in the event this outdoor season. Dubray finished second in the event at SFA's annual home meet with a career-best time of 10:51.37.
In the 10000m, Paul Kiprotich, Ryan Binskin, Sam Golla and Lathan Lewter will compete for the SFA men, while Valentine Jemutai, Mercy Kipchumba, Sharon Boyani and Lizi McGuire will be in action for the SFA women. It will be the first such event this spring for all eight of SFA's representatives.
FRIDAY
Lauren Creaby and Evaline Chepkoech along with Keyshawn Garcia, Robert Fuelle and Pablo Lesarri, will all be in action for the 800m events. Chepkoech recorded a time of 2:07.13 to win the 800m at the A&M 44 Farms Invite; a new season best that is less than a second off the program record. Creaby has ran the second-fastest time in the event for the Jacks this season; three seconds back of Chepkoech.
Garcia's time of 1:50.30 at the Carl Kight is the fastest by a Jack in the event this season and the sixth fastest all-time. Fuelle owns eighth-fastest time in program history. Lesarri will compete in the event for the first time this season.
SATURDAY
Riley Elliott joins Garcia, Fuelle and Lesarri for the 1500m run. Lesarri has the team's fastest event time this season at 3:46.33 and the fourth fastest in program history. Fuelle's fastest time this season in the fifth fastest. Elliott owns the second fastest time in program history at 3:44.73 set last season.
Trude Lamb and Miranda Duran join Creaby for the women's 1500m. Lamb owns the second fastest time in the event this season which ranks fourth all-time.
