Chepkoech Wins Again as SFA Concludes 44 Farms Invite

First-year Jack bests 800m field to highlight Saturday efforts in College Station
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Evaline Chepkoech's hot start to the outdoor season has reached a consistent boil as the first-year Lumberjack won again on Saturday, beating the 800m field at the 44 Farms Invite with a time of 2:07.13; a new season best that is less than a second off the program record.
The Jacks placed two women in point-scoring finishes in the pole vault with Christine Schick and Reis Johnson each landing personal bests 3.67m (12' ½").
Kiyah Rawls led two other Jacks in the women's shot put with a top 20 mark of 12.49m (40' 11 ¾") to place 16th and Danielle Bejar followed in the top 20 with a personal best 12.11m (39' 8 ¾"). Taylor Makiya tossed 11.86m (38' 11") to finish 23rd.
In the women's 100m, Timiejha Furlow placed ninth in the 56-runner field with a season-best time of 11.58. Kennedy Swann finished inside the top 20 in 16th place with a season-best effort of 11.70 (11.692). Jessica Ogunlade ran her fastest 100m of the season at 12.14.
Alana Rouquette finished the 100m hurdles in 14.22 and placed inside the field's top 20. Mya Sanders raced to a new season-best time of 57.94 in the women's 400m. Lauren Creaby placed 11th (2:13.38) in the 800m.
Abbigail Hirth landed 1.63m (5' 4 ¼") in the high jump, a new season best, to finish in 11th place.
The men's 800m saw Keyshawn Garcia place second (1:52.58) and Robert Fulle clock 1:53.50 to finish fifth. In the men's 1500m, Pablo Lesarri raced to a top three podium finish with a personal best time of 3:46.33.
Four Jacks finished inside the top 20 of the men's shot put and were led by Kason Reed's top ten finish at eighth with a mark of 16.53m (54' 2 ¾"). Julian Tijerina (15.39m), Aiden Reed (14.97m) and Jackson Grantham (14.54m) placed 14th, 17th, and 20th, respectively.
Brayden Hill and Garrett Savage both cleared 4.92m (16' 1 ¾") in the pole vault to finish tenth, while Payton Bragg cleared 4.77m (15' 7 ¾) to place 14th. Hill and Bragg both notched season-best marks.
Hunter Murphy posted 2.01m (6' 7") in the high jump to earn a sixth-place result. Rance Berney placed 17th at 1.91m (6' 3 ¼").
Mike Thomas Jr.'s personal best time of 48.58 saw him finish inside a loaded men's 400m field at 26th. Perry Watkins finished 23rd with a time of 10.54 in the men's 100m. The SFA men posted a season best 4x100m time of 40.64 to place seventh in the event.
