Anderson Wins 400mH, Jacks Cap Friday Action at 44 Farms Invite

SFA prepares for big Saturday in College Station
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Jarvis Anderson sped to a season-best time of 51.08 in the men's 400m hurdles to beat the 30-runner field at the 44 Farms Invite on Friday afternoon in College Station. Anderson's effort highlighted day two action for the Lumberjacks who also saw Samuel Pavan record the program's third-most points ever in the decathlon (7445) and Basia Mitchell improve on her third-highest heptathlon score (5296).
RESULTS
Mitchell placed seventh overall in the 21-athlete field. That performance was powered by five top ten finishes including a third place showing in the long jump (19' 1 ¼") and a fifth-place result in the 100m hurdles (14.01). On the men's side, Pavan earned a third-place finish in the 15-athlete field as a result of seven top five efforts highlighted by first-place finishes in the long jump (7.29m), shot put (14.93m) and pole vault (4.80m).
Tynslee Richards, SFA track and field's female field athlete of the week for her efforts at the Carl Kight Invitational, finished 15th in the hammer at 45.26m (148' 6"). Kiyah Rawls followed in 17th at 43.62m (143' 1"). Danielle Bejar recorded a personal best with a mark of 42.19m (138' 5") and Taylor Makiya rounded out the four Jacks in the field's top 25 at 41.28m (135' 5").
Alana Rouquette posted a 400m hurdles time of 1:02.73; a personal-best clocking which earned her a top 15 finish in 14th of the 30-runner field.
Kaycei Salazar led two other Jacks in the 800m with a fifth-place result in 2:16.22. Jovonah Rhodes finished in the top ten at ninth with a time of 2:21.17. Madison Hill's time of 2:25.96 placed her 16th.
Five SFA females posted top 20 results in the 1500m with Miranda Duran (4:40.15) and Landry Perkin (4:41.92) earning podium placements in fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the men's 800m, Kevin Curry IV finished in 1:53.80 to earn a top 10 finish at seventh. Two other Jacks placed inside the top 25 with Peyton Mabee (1:59.90) and Blake Hyatt (2:06.55) placing 20th and 23rd, respectively.
Victor Ramos' 11th place finish in the hammer with a mark of 56.02m (183' 9") led three other Jacks in the event. James Williams finished in the top 20 at 48.83m (160' 2"). Jackson Grantham placed 22nd in the discus at 43.40m (142' 5"). Ayden Colbert produced a season-best mark of 6.51m (21' 4 ¼") in the long jump.
