Sandyjacks Set to Head to Tampa for Stampede Beach Opener

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin beach volleyball team will travel to Tampa for the Stampede Beach Opener hosted by the University of South Florida. SFA will face off against UAB and Sacramento State on Friday, March 27 before wrapping up the tournament against Sam Houston and UTEP on Saturday, March 28.
SCOUTING UAB
• UAB holds a 2-0 series lead over SFA with the most recent matchup resulting in a sweep for the Blazers, 5-0, on March 9, 2024.
• The Blazers enter the weekend with a 12-9 record and are on a two-game win streak.
• Olivia Stant and Jasmine Haas have a 14-7 record in flight one, which leads the team with the best record in a single flight.
• Pien Grooters and Isabel Day have three wins in flight two.
• Claudia Stockard and Lauren Cairo have five wins in flight three.
• Ava Grace Knott and Olivia Chychrun have six wins in flight four and seven wins in flight five.

• This will be the first matchup between these two programs.
