Jacks Earn Automatic Bid for 2026 National Invitation Tournament

Historic campaign continues for Braeuer and Co. as SFA will make first national postseason tournament since 2021-22 CBI
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Not done yet. Stephen F. Austin men's basketball has received an automatic bid into the 2026 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) as a historic first season under first-time head coach Matt Braeuer will extend into the national postseason. It will be the first appearance for the program in the national postseason since the 2022 College Basketball Invitational. The Jacks topped Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the semifinal round of the Southland Conference tournament before falling to defending champion McNeese in the league title game. SFA won the outright Southland Conference regular season title behind a conference and program record 20 league wins. It marked the first regular season SLC title for the Jacks since the 2019-20 season. The Jacks' will enter the national postseason with 28 wins which is tied for the fifth-most victories in a single season in program history.
