DENTON, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin women's tennis team was defeated in a 2-5 match at UNT on Friday, February 6.

The Lumberjacks captured a quick 1-0 lead against the Mean Green. Rooth, Back, Kinsey, and Taco led SFA in doubles, combining for a total of 13 points to take down UNT, clinching the first point.

SFA looked to start the first set off hot, going 3-for-6 on singles matches in the first set, with a first set score of 30-28 overall. Chavez was able to fend off Adati in the first set, forcing it into a tiebreaker before Adati closed it out.

UNT was able to pull through in the second, winning each set, for all but one, as Rooth captured the second set victory, giving SFA their second point in the singles match.

POSTGAME NOTES

UNT adds their sixth win of the series, now at 6-1, with their fourth straight victory.
SFA improves to above .500 on doubles matches, with this match improving the team to 3-2 on the season.
Sonja Rooth claims her second singles match this season, improving to 2-0.
Rooth also collected her sixth straight singles match victory.
