Coaches move Jacks up one spot to No. 4, SFA holds at No. 7 in media poll
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin football is a consensus top 10 team for the third-straight week as the Jacks gained a spot to No. 4 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS Top 25 poll, while holding at No. 7 in the Opta Analyst Stats Perform FCS Top 25. It marks the 15th-straight week that the Jacks have earned a national ranking.Â
Â
SFA advanced a single spot in the coaches poll due to Idaho's upset win over Montana State. SFA sits directly behind the Bobcats in this week's media rankings. The Jacks' No. 4 ranking in the AFCA poll marks the highest such weekly ranking for the program since November 22, 2010, when SFA ranked No. 2 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 3 in The Sports Network Poll.
Â
Lamar moved to No. 10 in the AFCA rankings and Southeastern Louisiana rejoined the poll at No. 25. The Cardinals jumped three spots to No. 11 in the Stats Perform rankings, while the Lions are the top team receiving votes not ranked in the October 5 poll.Â
