'Jacks Receiving Votes as FCS Play Resumes, Non-Con Slate Concludes

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - With FCS play resuming and the non-conference slate concluding for Stephen F. Austin this Saturday at Jimmy W. Murphy Field inside Homer Bryce Stadium, the 'Jacks remain among the nation's top FCS teams as the squad is receiving votes in each of the latest releases of the major top 25 FCS polls. SFA garnered six points in the AFCA Coaches Poll and picked up 22 points in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25.
Four Southland Conference teams are receiving votes in the coaches rankings, while UIW rates #14 nationally; a single spot ahead of SFA's Week 2 road opponent Abilene Christian. Both of those teams are inside the Stats Perform rankings with ACU rated #14 and UIW checking in at #19. Lamar jumped into the top 25 at #23 nationally, while three SLC foes check in with votes in the September 15 rankings.
