SFA slides one spot, eyes top 25 tilt at #16 ACU as FCS play begins
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The first in-season Stats Perform FCS Top 25 was announced on Monday. Stephen F. Austin, coming off a season-opening loss at Houston, slid two spots from its #23 preseason ranking to #25 following Week 1 action across the country. A top 25 match up awaits SFA in Week 2 as the Lumberjacks head out west to take on Stats Perform FCS #16 Abilene Christian which stayed put with its preseason ranking following a season-opening defeat at Tulsa.
The 'Jacks received 146 total points and are one of three Southland Conference teams inside the top 25. SFA (0-1) is joined in the first weekly rankings by #12 Incarnate Word (1-1, 0-1 SLC), which dropped from preseason #5, and #22 Nicholls (1-1, 1-0 SLC), which used a Week 0 win over UIW to crack the poll.
