CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Beach Volleyball Team (13-9, 5-3 SLC) closes out their road schedule for the 2025 season as they travel to Corpus Christi to participate in the Islander Classic, first up is a meeting with hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12-9, 7-1 SLC).
Lumberjacks at a Glance:
The Lumberjacks will look to use their week off of competition to their advantage as they hit the road looking to gain some ground in the Southland standings and improve on their current fourth-place standing. The 'Jacks went into their bye week carrying a surge of momentum as after falling in their first two matches of the Southland Mid-Season Event, the Lumberjacks roared back and won their final four matches of the event. SFA will now carry a four-game win streak into Corpus Christi, with their 13 overall wins this season ranking as the second most of any school in the Southland this season.
Islanders at a Glance:
The second-place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders get set for their first and only four home matches of the season as they host the Islander Classic this weekend. The Islanders also received a bye week following competing in the Southland Mid-Season Event as they finished the event with a 5-1 record, recording sweeps in all five wins, before falling in a 3-2 nail-biter to the Southland leading Boise State Broncos in the tournament finale as they look to get back in the win column this weekend.
Series:
Friday afternoon's tournament kick-off will see these two Southland opponents meet for the 10th all-time meeting, with Corpus holding a perfect 9-0 record over SFA to date. The Islanders defeated SFA earlier this season when they claimed a 5-0 win over SFA at the Longhorn Invitational.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Beach Volleyball Team (13-9, 5-3 SLC) closes out competition for day one of the Islander Classic against the Sam Houston State University Bearkats (1-11, 0-1 CUSA).
Bearkats at a Glance:
The Sam Houston State University Bearkats close out their 2025 regular season schedule at the Islander Classic looking to snap a four-game losing skid. The Bearkats have received a lengthy break in their schedule as their last time playing came on March 15th when they participated in the Axe'Em Invitational hosted by the Lumberjacks. Sam Houston will be looking to end their 2025 season on a strong note at the Islander Classic as they play a trio of games on Friday to start the tournament.
Series:
The closing match of day one of the Islander Classic will see these two Texas rivals meet for just the second all-time meeting. The Lumberjacks won the only other meeting between these two schools earlier this season at the Axe'Em Invitational as they swept the Bearkats 5-0 at home.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Beach Volleyball Team (13-9, 5-3 SLC) open up a Saturday doubleheader at the Islander Classic against the Texas A&M University- Kingsville Javelinas (16-8, 0-0).
Javelinas at a Glance:
The Texas A&M University-Kingsville continue their lengthy stretch away from home as they will play in their fifth straight tournament on the road when they compete in the Islander Classic. The Javelinas competed in the Concordia Invite last weekend in Irvine and came away with a 2-2 overall record from the tournament with a pair of 3-2 wins over Vanguard University and Masters University. However, the Javelinas will be looking to get back in the win column this weekend and improve on their 16-8 overall record on the season.
Series:
Day two of the Islander Classic begins with the 13th all-time meeting between these two schools, with the Javelinas holding a 7-5 all-time record against SFA. These two schools met earlier this season at the Axe'Em Invitational as SFA posted a 4-1 home win over the Javelinas.

The Tarleton State University Texans get set for just their fourth tournament this season this weekend at the Islander Classic as the Texans will look to end a six-game skid in Corpus Christi. The Texans competed in the LBSU Invitational back on March 15th-16th in Long Beach and were unable to come away with a win, drawing a pair of tough opponents in number nine ranked Long Beach State as well as Arizona. The Texans will look to improve their 4-8 record before finishing their regular season at the New Orleans Classic in two weeks.
Series:
The Islander Classic finale for SFA will see them lock horns with the Texans for just the second all-time meeting. SFA won the only other matchup between these two schools last season when they posted a 4-1 neutral win over the Texans.
