‘Jacks Survive and Advance to Day Three of SLC Tournament

NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Stephen F. Austin beach volleyball team (22-13) faced two elimination matches on day two of the Southland Conference Tournament.

In the first match of the day, SFA faced host and No. 8 seeded New Orleans. After securing two early victories in the 1s and 3s, the 5s secured a sweep for the 'Jacks. That victory sent the 'Jacks to a matchup with the No. 6 seeded Southeastern Louisiana Lions. Once again, the 1s and 3s got the match going with two intense three-set victories that was capped off by back-to-back aces from Kelly Johnson to secure a 2-0 lead for the 'Jacks. After SLU secured a point in the 5s, Kylie Golden and Ashley Boswell took the first set and fought through a Lion comeback in the second set to clinch the match point for SFA, 3-1.
