‘Jacks Fall to Spartans in Quarterfinals of the Consolation Bracket

NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Stephen F. Austin beach volleyball team (22-14) competed in day three of the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time since 2021. This year they faced the No. 3 seeded San Jose State Spartans in an elimination match Friday morning.

SJSU quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead as their 2s and 4s swept SFA in straight sets. In the 3s, Kelly Johnson and Elaina Amador swept the Spartans to claim the first point for the 'Jacks. Jennah Atchley and Victoria Simmang followed suit with a sweep that forced both sets into extras which tied the match up at two. It all came down to Katie Hansen and Tessa Rogers in the 1s. SFA claimed the first set, but SJSU fought back and won the second. The Spartans used all the momentum to power them to a 15-8 third set victory which claimed match point.

Order of Finish: 4, 2, 3, 5, 1

SFA finishes the 2025 season with a 22-14 record, the most wins in program history, an undefeated home record, and two all-conference second team pairs.
