Lumberjacks Head to Waco to Compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational

WACO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Track and Field team will head to Waco this weekend to compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational, hosted by Baylor University. This is a two-day event, with all the action taking place on Friday and Saturday.
The Lumberjacks are coming off an ultra successful home track meet, as they had a staggering 34 athletes and teams record top-five finishes at the Cark Kight Invitational and Multis. Head Coach Robert Hansen was proud of how his team performed in front of the home fans, saying, "This was the perfect mid-season meet for our group!" Hansen is now looking ahead to Waco. "We're thrilled about heading to Baylor this weekend." Said Hansen. "This meet is loaded with talent, and it's the perfect opportunity to showcase our group."
The meet starts on Friday at 11 a.m. with the men's hammer throw, and will wrap up Saturday evening with the men's and women's 4x400 meter races, scheduled to take place at 4:55 p.m. and 5:05 p.m.
After they compete in Waco, the 'Jacks will travel to Houston to compete at the J. Fred Duckett Meet, hosted by Rice University.
