SFA Football Announces 2025 Complete Schedule

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin football program has released its 2025 complete schedule.
The schedule features 12 games, six home games at Homer Bryce Stadium, eight Southland conference games (SLC), including one against first year program UTRGV at Homer Bryce Stadium.
Head Coach Colby Carthel begins his seventh season with the Lumberjacks and is coming off a 7-5 overall record in 2024, 4-3 in SLC play. The Lumberjacks open their season on the road against the University of Houston of the Big 12 on Thursday, August 28th at TDECU Stadium. It is the first of four scheduled non-conference games.
The following week the 'Jacks make a return trip to Abilene, Texas to face their non-conference rival the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday, September 13th at Anthony Field Wildcat Stadium.
SFA opens their six-game home schedule of 2025 when they host SUL Ross State on Saturday, September 6th at Homer Bryce Stadium.
SFA will close out their non-conference schedule at home, hosting Cal Poly on Saturday, September 20th in Homer Bryce Stadium. This marks the first time the Lumberjacks and Mustangs will play.
The 'Jacks open SLC play on Saturday, September 27th when they host McNeese State University as part of Parents Weekend.
The Lumberjacks travel to San Antonio, Texas for their first SLC road game when they take on the University of Incarnate Word (UIW) on Saturday, October 4th. The following week (Oct. 11) is the 'Jacks bye week.
The Lumberjacks fourth home game of 2025 is the annual Homecoming game as the 'Jacks host Nicholls State on Saturday, October 18th at Homer Bryce Stadium.
On Saturday, October 25th the Lumberjacks will make a trip to Commerce, Texas as they play East Texas A&M in a conference bout against the Lions. Saturday, November 1st, SFA will host UTRGV in their first season of football at Homer Bryce Stadium.
SFA travels to Houston, Texas for their second visit to Houston in 2025 to take on the Houston Christian Huskies on Saturday, November 8th.
The Lumberjacks close out their home schedule against Lamar University on Saturday, November 15th. This will be Senior Day for the 'Jacks.
The 2025 schedule concludes for the 'Jacks when they head to Natchitoches, Louisiana for the Battle of the Sabine as the Lumberjacks will take on the Northwestern State Demons on Saturday, November 20th.
