
Key Roseby’s Fourth Double-Double Lifts Ladyjacks to their 11th Straight Win

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball team (25-5, 15-4 SLC) hosted their annual Play 4 Kay game against the McNeese Cowgirls (10-19, 5-13 SLC).
Key Roseby started out hot with a three-pointer in the first 15 second of the game. Both teams traded three-point baskets then Faith Blackstone knocked down to free throws that were followed up by a three from Harmanie Dominguez, 12-6 with 6:34 left in the first. McNeese took the lead off back-to-back three pointers, 18-15 with 3:42 left. A jumper from Avery VanSickle cut the lead down to one as McNeese took a lead heading into the first quarter break, 20-19.
SFA started the second quarter on a 7-0 run as they took a 26-20 lead with 7:53 left in the second quarter. After three made free throws from McNeese, SFA went on a 4-0 spurt to bring the lead back up to six, 29-23 with 6:35 left in the first half. Both teams traded blows the rest of the quarter as SFA went into the locker room with a seven-point lead, 37-30.
The red hot Ladyjack offense continued in the third as SFA started off the third with an 8-0 run that extended their lead to 15, 45-30 with 6:42 left. After a layup from the Cowgirls, SFA continued with a 5-0 spurt to give the 'Jacks a commanding 50-32 lead. Both teams traded baskets for the last two minutes of the third, and SFA went into the fourth quarter with a 54-37 lead.
A four-point play from Trinity Moore got the fourth quarter started for the 'Jacks and extended the lead to 20 points, 57-37. Blackstone followed it up with a four-point play of her own, 60-37 with 8:17 left. McNeese responded with a quick 4-0 run but SFA responded with a 6-2 run thanks to threes from Roseby and Dominguez, 66-43 with 5:44 left. With 3:50 left in the game, Ashlyn Traylor-Walker went on a five-point spurt to extend the Ladyjacks lead to 73-48. After another five-point run from the 'Jacks, the Cowgirls went on a six-point run before free throws from Traylor-Walker iced the game and secured the 'Jacks 11th straight win with an 80-57 win.
