
Men’s Cross-Country Wins Rice Invitational

Houston, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin men's cross-country team finished up the Rice Invitational in first place on Friday.
Junior Riley Elliott was the top finisher for the Lumberjacks coming in 3rd place overall with a time of 15:50.
"Riley hopped into the top five in the early stages of the race," said head coach Rob Hansen. "He allowed himself to get uncomfortable enough to push a few guys over the second half of the race. He led the way in a big way."
Freshman Ryan Binskin followed closely finishing 6th overall with a time of 16:10. Junior Zephirin Darhan finished 7th overall with a time of 16:12. Sophomore Andrew Mullen finished 11th overall with a time of 16:22. Devon Judelson finished 12th with a time of 16:23. Sophomore Pablo Lesarri finished 15th with a time of 16:29. Junior Robert Fulle 16th with a time of 16:32. Sophomore Brendon Woodside rounded out the field for the 'Jacks finishing in 29th with a time of 16:58.
Head coach Rob Hansen commented about the overall performance saying, "the guys 2-7 found each other all day yesterday and it was great to see."
"It was nice to see the boys running together," said head coach Rob Hansen. "They executed the race plan perfectly and I was proud of their tenacity in the closing stages of the race. Getting a team win is a fun little steppingstone along the path of this season."
