
Ladyjacks Women’s Golf Wraps up Season at WAC Championships

PAYSON, Arizona- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Women's Golf team wrapped up their 2023-24 season today at the WAC Women's Golf Championships. The Ladyjacks finished tied for 9th place at +97 over par and 949 total strokes.
Graduate student Sydni Leung wrapped up her final tournament of her collegiate career as the top finisher for the Ladyjacks. Sydni finished tied for 39th at +24 over par and totaled 237 strokes through the three days of play. Sydni, the Plano, Texas native transferred from Arkansas State University and competed in all 10 tournaments this season for the Ladyjacks.
Senior Jesica Aguirre was the next highest finisher tying for 45th overall at +27 over par totaling 240 strokes. Jessica, the Grapevine, Texas native competed in all 10 of the tournaments this season for the Ladyjacks.
Senior Sloane Bennett wrapped up her final collegiate tournament in 47th place at +28 over par with 241 total strokes. Sloane, the Spring, Texas native competed in every tournament for the Ladyjacks this season. At the Diamante Intercollegiate Sloane set a new school record as an individual finished -4 under par with 212 total strokes. The performance topped the previous record held by Kate Dishman of +1 over par and 214 strokes.
Sophomore Avree Fields finished tied for 49th at +33 over par with 246 total strokes. Avree, the Lantana, Texas native wrapped up her sophomore campaign at the WAC Championships and competed in eight events for the Ladyjacks this season.
Senior Valerie Routzong competed in her final tournament of her collegiate career in 52nd place at +36 over par and 249 total strokes. Valerie the Richmond, Texas native competed in eight tournaments for the Ladyjacks in her final season. Valerie transferred from McNeese State University and was a key player for the Ladyjacks during her career at SFA.
