Lumberjack Men’s Golf Team Finishes 13th at The Big Texan Tournament

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks men's golf team wrapped up their play at the Big Texan Tournament this afternoon in Kerrville, Texas. The men finished the tournament in 13th place. The 'Jacks finished +28 over par and totaled 892 total strokes as a team.

Jake Smelser was the top finisher for the Lumberjacks as he finished tied for 31st 6 over par totaling 222 strokes for the tournament. Eyan Edsall finished tied for 39th at 8 over par totaling 224 total strokes. Mathew Hewitt finished tied for 45th at 9 over par totaling 225 strokes for the event. Jaxon Griffith tied for 61st at 12 over par totaling 228 total strokes, while Ryan Esparza finished 74th at 18 over par totaling 234 total strokes for the tournament.

The Lumberjacks men's golf team will be back in action April 1st-April 3rd at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate being held at Pawleys Island in South Carolina.
