NACOGDOCHES, Texas. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Basketball Team (9-6, 3-1), returns home for a pair of conference games starting when they host the Utah Tech Trailblazers (8-7, 2-2) on Thursday evening.
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
SFA opens up a short two-game home stand coming off a tough 81-62 road loss to the UTA Mavericks on Saturday afternoon, which marked the Ladyjacks first loss and road loss in conference play this season.
A pair of 'Jacks finished in double figures in point totals against Utah Tech led by Kurstyn Harden, who continues to string together strong performances for SFA who has now scored in double figures in three straight games for SFA. Harden led the way in scoring by posting 19 points, while hauling down four rebounds, and showing off her range with a three-pointer. Tyler McCliment-Call finished with 11 points and made a team-high three three-pointers, while adding a team-high six rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal to her stats. McCliment-Call's double-digit point effort marked her fifth consecutive game with double-digit points, and she has made at least one three-pointer in 13 of 15 games so far this season. Lydia Cooke-Wiggins continues to provide valuable production for SFA as a freshman as she has recorded 32 points over her last three games, highlighted by her double-double 10-point, 11-assist performance against UNT-Dallas. Destini Lombard continues to provide production all over the court for SFA as she recorded eight points, five rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal against the Mavericks. Meanwhile, Kyla Deck returned to the SFA lineup and made her presence felt immediately as she played a team-high 36 minutes, while scoring nine points, pulling down two rebounds, dished out a team-leading seven assists, and led the defensive effort with three steals. Deck has recorded at least one steal in all 12 games she has played in this season for SFA.
On the season, Kurstyn Harden is the leader of the Ladyjack offense as she averages a healthy 15.9 points/game, while also leading the team in rebounds with 111 on the year for an average of 7.4/game, while shooting over 81% from the charity stripe for the season. Kyla Deck is second on the team in points per game as she averages a solid 12.0 points/game while ranking second on the team in three-pointers made with 18 on the season, and second on the team in steals with 37. Destini Lombard rounds out the top three scorers for SFA as she averages 11.2 points/game while stuffing the stat sheet every game for SFA. Lombard leads the team in assists with 67, leads the team in steals with 39, and is second on the team in blocks with 11 just two behind leader Zoe Nelson. The Ladyjacks have a pair of players ranked in the top 50 in the nation in Total Steals as Destini Lombard ranks tied for 27th in the nation with her 39 steals, while Kyla Deck ranks tied for 37th in the nation with 37 steals. Deck and Lombard also rank in the top-50 in Steals per Game as Deck ranks tied for 13th in the nation with 3.08 steals/game, while Lombard ranks tied at 43rd in the nation with 2.60 steals/game. As a team, SFA ranks 23rd in the nation in steals per game as they currently average an impressive 11.5 steals/game.

The Utah Tech Trailblazers hit the road for just one game as they will get set to open up a four-game home stand next week. The Trailblazers come into the Sawmill on the heels of a 73-48 loss to the GCU Lopes on Saturday. On the season, the Trailblazers have a pair of games in which they surpassed the century mark with their score, and hosted the Trailblazer Classic earlier this season in which they claimed an impressive win over Pac-12 opponent Oregon 92-86 in St. George, Utah.
The Trailblazer offense is an efficient and effective one as they have four different players who average double-digit points on the season. Breaunna Gillen leads the way for the Trailblazers as she averages 15.5 points/game while leading the team with 92 rebounds for an average of 6.6 rebounds/game, leads the team with 70 assists, and ranks second on the team in steals with 22. Maddie Warren is just behind Gillen in points as she averages 15.2 points/game while draining a team-high 37 three-pointers on the season, and leads the team with 23 steals.
