'Jacks Drop Game Two vs UT Rio Grande Valley

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Jacks dropped game two tonight as UT Rio Grande Valley dominated the contest, winning 15-1. The Jacks drop to 22-27 (12-17 WAC) while UTRGV improves to 28-24 (14-14 WAC).
The Jacks needed a win tonight to keep their playoff hopes alive, and tonight simply wasn't their night. They started off well, as Cal Martin singled home the game's first run, but that would be all for the Jacks in the evening. RJ Ochoa got the scoring started for the Vaqueros with an RBI single in the second, and they scored two more in the third to take a 3-1 lead. Another scored in the fourth before Brandon Pimental continued his historic season with a three run home run to put UTRGV up 7-1. Kade York hit an RBI single in the fifth to extend the lead. The Vaqueros completely broke it open in the seventh, putting up a seven spot highlighted by an Adrian Torres grand slam. UT Rio Grande Valley would go on to win 15-1.
For the Lumberjacks, Martin had a solid night, recording two hits, but other than that, the offense was pretty quiet. For the Vaqueros, though, every person in their lineup recorded at least one hit. Garrett Gearner struck out three in the game.
The Jacks will look to win the series finale tomorrow at noon.
