
SFA Travels to Wyoming to Face Cowboys

LARAMIE, Wyoming- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (5-4, 1-1) travel to Arena Auditorium to face the Wyoming Cowboys (5-3, 0-0) in a non-conference game. This will be the second overall matchup between the two teams. The last matchup resulted in a 94-55 SFA loss on January 2, 1988, at Wyoming. SFA is playing their 4th road contest along with three games at the Cayman Island Classic and have a combined 4-2 record.
A Look at SFA:
The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks are coming off a non-conference 56-49 loss to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. It was a low scoring defensive battle in which both teams shot under 40% from the field. The Lumberjack scoring was led by AJ Cajuste who finished the game with nine points, four rebounds and an assist. SFA's defense forced 20 turnovers. SFA out rebounded the Bulldogs on the offensive boards 19-7 with Matt Hayman posting a career best 11 rebounds. Sadaidriene Hall leads the Jacks in scoring at 10.6 ppg and rebounds 5.1 rpg.
SFA is currently ranked in the NCAA top 100 for five different categories including 10th in bench points per game (35.78, 1st in WAC), and 9th in turnovers forced per game (17.89, 1st in WAC). SFA is hitting 45.7 percent of its field-goal attempts, which includes a 34.5 percent clip from 3-point range.
Latrell Jossell is SFA's leader behind the three-point line. He ranks fifth in the WAC for three-pointers made, with his 17. Jossell is shooting 41.5% from the arc.

The Cowboys are 5-3 on the season. Wyoming earned an 80-59 home victory over South Dakota Mines on Tuesday. They are shooting 48% from the field for the season while allowing the opposition to shoot 42 percent. The Pokes are shooting 42 percent from behind the arc this season (3rd in NCAA).
