
Two Lumberjacks Named to Inaugural All-UAC Teams

NACOGDOCHES, Tx- Lumberjacks Sophomore running back Jerrell Wimbley and redshirt-sophomore defensive lineman Edward Bobino III and have been named to the inaugural United Athletic Conference (UAC) All-Conference Team.
Edward Bobino III from Huntsville, TX was named to the All-Conference First Team Defense. He had a great year for the Lumberjacks, totaling 52 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, three quarterback hurries, and two blocked kicks on the season. Bombino had a season and career high nine total tackles against Abilene Christian on 10/21/23 and recorded one sack against five teams this season. His two blocked kicks came in back-to-back weeks with the first coming against Texas A&M Commerce on 9/30/23 and the second against Utah Tech on 10/7/23.
Jerrell Wimbley was named to the All-Conference Second Team Offense. He played in 10 games for the Lumberjacks, leading SFA in rushing with 707 yards on 141 carries and six touchdowns. He rushed for a season and career high 165 yards against Abilene Christian on 10/21/23 and had two other games rushing for over 100 yards. In the Alcorn State game, he hit the career 1,000 yard running mark and finished the season with 1,311 yards. Wimbley from Houston, TX was also a weapon for the passing game, hauling in 23 receptions for 118 yards and one receiving touchdown.
