
SFA Continues Home Stand Against Paul Quinn

Nacogdoches, Texas-Â The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will host the Paul Quinn Tigers on tomorrow afternoon, December 22, in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. CT at William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Lumberjacks enter the contest with a 6-5 overall record and coming off a 75-72 win over New Mexico State. The Tigers come to the Sawmill with a 1-6 overall mark.

This will be the seventh time the Lumberjacks and Tigers meet dating. Back to 1972.  SFA has won all six meetings including last season's 103-40 win over the Tigers at the Coliseum.  The first game between these two teams was on December 19th, 1972, a 150-88 win for the Lumberjacks.  SFA is averaging 112 points in the series and has scored 100 points in four of six games against the Tigers.

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks are coming off a 75-72 win over the New Mexico State Aggies in a non-conference game at William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Lumberjacks improved to 6-5 overall and the Aggies fell to 5-8 on the year.  Nana Antwi-Boasiako was named Pilgrim's Player of the Game as he posted a double-double with season highs in points, 18, and 10 rebounds.  It was Nana's first career double-double.Â

Latrell Jossell (15), AJ Cajuste (11), and Juhlawnei Stone (11) also posted double digit scoring performances for the Lumberjacks.  SFA outrebounded the Aggies 43-31, including a 18-7 offensive rebounding margin. As one of the top teams in the NCAA in bench scoring, the Lumberjacks totaled 40 points from seven players off the bench in the win.

Sadaidriene Hall is the leading scorer for the Lumberjacks. He is currently averaging 9.6 points per game on 47.1% shooting from the field.  Hall also leads the team in rebounding with his 4.6 rebounds per game.

SFA currently ranks in the WAC's top three in eight different statistical categories. The 'Jacks are number one in bench points (36.64), fourth in effective FG percentage (50.3%), third in FG percentage (44.6%), third in offensive rebounds per game (12.64), second in FG percentage defense (40.9%), second in steals per game (9.4), three-point percentage (33.6%), and first in turnovers forced per game (17.91). Â
