MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Basketball Team (6-3, 2-0) will travel to Tennessee to square off with the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (8-3, 0-0) for the first time in program history.
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
Stephen F. Austin will be looking to bounce back on the road as they are coming off a hard-fought 74-69 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide on December 9th. The loss at Alabama marked the first road loss of the season for SFA.
A pair of Ladyjacks set new career-highs in scoring against Alabama as Trinity Moore and Destini Lombard led the offensive charge for SFA. Moore played her best game this season as she led the team in scoring with a career-high 21 points, while also leading the team in rebounds with nine, and steals with three. Lombard contributed all-around for the Ladyjacks as she finished second on the team in scoring with a career-high 19 points, while making a team-leading three three-pointers, and dishing out three assists, while pulling down three rebounds. Kurstyn Harden continues to post consistently strong numbers for SFA as she also finished with double-digit points in Tuscaloosa with 14, while adding five rebounds and four assists. The game against Alabama marked the first time this season Harden did not shoot a single free-throw in a game; however, she still shoots an extremely high 84% rate from the charity stripe on the season. While Kyla Deck cooled off from her scorching hot scoring streak, she still found effective ways to contribute to the scoring for SFA as she led the team in assists with five. Tyler McCliment-Call and Avery VanSickle formed a dynamic duo against the Tide as they combined for 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
On the season, Kurstyn Harden has been the MVP for the Ladyjacks as she leads the team by averaging an impressive 18.0 points per game, while also adding an average of 8.0 rebounds per game on top of that. Kyla Deck and Destini Lombard have helped form a threatening trio with Harden as both Deck and Lombard average over 12.0 points per game and all three players have recorded double-digit steals this season.
The Ladyjack defense continues to play at a high level as they recorded 10 steals against Alabama and have recorded double-digit steals in three straight games for SFA. Those 10 steals turned into 21 points off turnovers for the 'Jacks, and they out-rebounded 'Bama 39-36 which turned into 20 second chance points for SFA. Stephen F. Austin continues to be effective and efficient in the paint as they had 40 points in the paint against the Crimson Tide which marked their third consecutive game with 40+ points in the paint.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will return home for the first time in over a month as they have not played at the Murphy Center since November 12th when they lost a nail-biter to Princeton 65-60. Over the past month, the Blue Raiders have been busy as they have traveled all over the country as they have played in four different states and participated in the Bad Boy Mowers Women's Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas.
The Blue Raiders will be carrying plenty of confidence as they return home as they will carry a two-game win streak into Murfreesboro which includes a 73-62 win over SEC opponent University of Tennessee. In the win over Tennessee, Anastasiia Boldyreva recorded seven blocks, which was the most by any Conference USA player in a single game this season. In their most recent win over Tennessee Tech, Jalynn Gregory and Anastasiia Boldyreva powered the Blue Raiders past the Golden Eagles 63-47. Gregory recorded her 42nd career double-double in the win as she led the team with a season-high 25 points, while Boldyreva recorded her 28th double-double as she finished with a team-leading 15 rebounds.
The Blue Raider offense is efficient as five players on the team currently average double-digit points a game. Anastasiia Boldyreva is the leader of the bunch as she averages a healthy 15.2 points per game, while adding 8.4 rebounds a game.
