
Beyer and Lemke Headline All-Southland Bowling Team

FRISCO, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin bowling took home come major hardware on the eve of the 2022 Southland Bowling Championships.
Carlene Beyer was named the Southland Conference Bowler of the Year and Amber Lemke was tapped at the Southland Conference Coach of the Year.
Beyer has been key for SFA this season, leading her team with a 21.28 traditional average and leading the league with 552 strikes. She has converted 54.3 percent of her strike attempts and ranks third in the SBL with a 21.170 individual overall frame average. Beyer has competed in all 1013 frames for the Ladyjacks this season and has accrued an 85.48-percent player composite performance index average along the way. The senior earned a spot on four All-Tournament teams throughout the season.
Lemke steered the Ladyjacks to eight top-five finishes in tournaments this season. Her team holds a 63-38 record going into the SBL Tournament. Stephen F. Austin sits second in the league in overall spare percentage (71.53), third in team scoring average (20.124), team fill percentage (85.41) and fifth in team strike percentage (48.75).
Individual awards are nominated and voted upon by the conference's head coaches.
The Ladyjacks road to the Southland Conference tournament championship and berth in the NCAA tournament begins Friday versus Arkansas State.
