LAS VEGAS, Nev. – No. 1 seed Stephen F. Austin routed No. 4 seed Utah Valley 68-42 and advanced the 2022 WAC Championship Game.

The Ladyjacks led 27-26 at halftime and utilized a second-half offensive surge to put away the Wolverines. SFA outscored UVU 41-16 in the third and fourth quarters and converted 45.5 percent (15-for-33) of its shot attempts.

Zya Nugent scored a game-high 25 points on 9-for-14 shooting from the floor. Stephanie Visscher and Brianna Mitchell each scored 14 points. Mitchell also finished with a game-high five steals.

Aiyanna Johnson helped out with eight points and six rebounds.

SFA limited their mistakes and turned the ball over just five times. The Ladyjacks dialed the pressure up defensively scored 30 points off 26 forced turnovers.

As a team, SFA shot 40.3 percent (27-for-67) from the field.

SFA awaits the winner between Cal Baptist and Grand Canyon. Tip is set for 4 p.m. (CT) and 2 p.m. (PT).
