Lumberjacks Crush Cougars for 5th Straight Win

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Gavin Kensmil scored a game-high 26 points on 10-for-13 shooting from the field and Stephen F. Austin rolled past Chicago State 88-71 in Western Athletic Conference action.
The Lumberjacks, winners of five in a row, stand at 17-8 overall and 9-4 in WAC play. CSU fell to 6-20 overall and 2-11 in conference action.
Offensively, SFA was feeling it and converted 60.4 percent (32-for-53) of its shots from the field.
The Lumberjacks spread the ball around with 23 assists (David Kachelries, 6; Calvin Solomon, 5; Latrell Jossell, 3; Kensmil, 2).
Solomon finished with 12 points and 10 points to post the double-double, and Jossell added 10 points.
Diego Willis helped out with nine points and Jaylin Jackson-Posey added eight points, including 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.
The Jacks return to the hardwood Saturday at Lamar and opening tip is set for 3 p.m.
