Ladyjacks Statistical Analysis
The Ladyjacks head into conference action as one of the favorites, if not the favorite, to win the Western Athletic Conference. They rank first in the conference in multiple statistical categories such as: assist/turnover ratio, assists per game, field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, rebound margin, scoring defense, scoring margin, scoring offense, three-point percentage, and most importantly, winning percentage.
The two most notable statistical headlines is that the Ladyjacks are top fifteen in the nation in both assists per game with 18.6 and field goal percentage with 47.8%. Jordan Harrison plays a major roll in the passing game as she leads the conference with assists and assists per game.
Aiyana Johnson continues to be the heart of the offense as she leads the team with 13.3 points per game, with all her points coming inside the paint. Beyond the arc, Angel Scott and Destini Lombard mark their title as the sharp shooters of the team both of them making approximately 45% of their deeps shots.
The Ladyjacks have no shortage of bench points as Kurstyn Harden has appeared in all 12 games coming off the bench, and is still averaging 11.2 point per game as well as leading the team with a 66.7% field goal percentage.
At this point in the season, Avery Brittingham is still only one of two players in the entire country to have a triple-double to their name.
A Look at the Wildcats
The Wildcats come into the Nacogdoches with a 7-5 record and a 1-0 conference record, defeating Tarleton 61-43 this past Thursday. It should also be noted that the Wildcats currently have a 1-4 record when playing on the road.
They aren't afraid to make shots from beyond the arc as they rank first in the conference in three pointers per game. The deep attacks are led by Madi Miller as she leads the team with 25 buckets made from the three point line, and is one of five Wildcats with at least ten three-pointers made.
If the Wildcats are to stay in contention for the win, they need to have a handle on the ball. Abilene Christian ranks first in the conference in turnovers per game with 15.5. Look for the Ladyjacks to be aggressive on defense and take advantage of that statistic.
Maleeah Langstaff leads the Wildcat offense with 12.3 points per game and a 48.5% field goal percentage. She also leads the team with 83 total rebounds, in order for the Ladyjacks to take control of the game, they need to make sure Langstaffis covered at all times.
