NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Alcorn State defeated Stephen F. Austin 69-60 Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

Alcorn improves to 2-1 and SFA falls to 2-1 on the season.

Sadaidriene Hall scored a game-high 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor.

Latrell Jossell and Roti Ware each scored nine points, while Jaylin Jackson-Posey and Kyle Hayman added six points apiece.

The 'Jacks shot 38.9 percent (21-for-54) from the floor, while the Braves converted 44.4 percent (24-for-54) of its shot attempts.

The first half was physical with neither team gaining a firm offensive advantage.

In the first 20 minutes of play, SFA shot 7-for-22 (31.8 percent) from the field, while Alcorn shot 33.3 percent (10-for-30) from the floor and Alcorn led 28-24 at the half.

The 'Jacks return to action Saturday at South Dakota State at 6 p.m.
