SFA's Xavier Gipson Named to FCS Preseason All-American Team

CHICAGO, IL -- The Stats Perform FCS All-American Teams were announced this week ahead of the 2021 fall season, and includes a familiar face and name for Lumberjack fans. Junior Xavier Gipson was selected to the Second Team Offense to represent the Lumberjacks on the national stage. All 15 FCS conferences and 60 schools are represented among the 120 All-Americans, who are split into three 40-player teams. Over 80 percent of the players earned a spot on a previous Stats Perform preseason or postseason All-America squad.

Gipson, a Dallas native, led the Lumberjacks with 52 catches for 841 yards last season. He also hauled in a team-high nine touchdown catches and posted three 100+ yard games. For his career, Gipson has accrued 104 catches, 1775 yards and 16 touchdowns, all of whcih lead the 'Jacks over that span.
