
Nathan Sabo Promoted to Graduate Assistant on Lumberjack Basketball Staff

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Nathan Sabo will remain in The Piney Woods for the 2021-22 season as part of the SFA Basketball staff, according to a Friday afternoon release from head coach Kyle Keller. Sabo, who has been a Student-Manager for the Lumberjacks since 2018-2019, will serve as a Graduate Assistant on Keller's staff.
"I am delighted to announce the promotion of Nathan Sabo to our coaching staff. ", said Keller. "Nathan has been invaluable behind the championship success of our program previously as an undergraduate student-manager. His relationship with our players and his work ethic continue to impress all of us. He will be an important piece to our mix this year."
Sabo, who originally hails from Forney, Texas, served as Head Manager for the 'Jacks during the 2020-2021 season. During his time with the program, he has been a part of the historic win over #1 Duke in 2019, and the 2020 regular season Conference Championship.
" I am thankful to coach Keller and the coaching staff for allowing me to stay in Nacogdoches" said Sabo. "As a Stephen F. Austin alum, I am proud to have the opportunity to continue representing this great program and University." Sabo will assist the coaching staff with scouting, player development and have day-to-day oversight of the Student-Manager program.
