
Ladyjacks Win Fifth Straight in Dominant Fashion

The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks improved to 8-1 Saturday afternoon as they took care of Our Lady of the Lake University by a score of 90-31 at home. The 'Jacks are now 4-0 at home with an average scoring margin of +48.25.
The Ladyjacks got off to a slow start, only holding a three-point lead with four minutes of play remaining the first quarter. They then finished the quarter on a 15-5 run going 6-8 from the floor. They continued to build a strong lead, as they held the Saints to just 5 points on 14% shooting in the second quarter to take a 42-16 advantage into the break. The 'Jacks exploded in the third quarter, pouring on 29 points on 12-24 shooting while holding the visitors to just 6 of their own.
It was total domination across the board statistically for the Lumberjacks. They out-rebounded the Saints 57-31 to add 30 second-chance points and allowed just 2 in the other direction. Other notable advantages for the 'Jacks include 29-4 points-off-turnovers and 46-6 points inside the paint.
Zya Nugent led the 'Jacks in scoring with 13, while adding 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Stephanie Visscher finished with 10 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and collected 3 steals along the way. Aiyana Johnson also racked up 10 points and a team-high 5 blocks. Zoe Nelson grabbed 11 rebounds and 6 points in just 10 minutes of action.
The Ladyjacks will now hit the road for a huge two-game trip against Gonzaga and Portland, the first of which will tip-off at 8:30 on Sunday, December 12th in Spokane, Washington.
