Gudmunsson Named to Southland Academic All-Conference Team

Southland Conference Men's Golf All-Academic Team Release
FRISCO, Texas -- The Southland Conference released its All-Academic Teams for men's golf on Wednesday morning, recognizing 11 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments this season. Lumberjack golfer Johannes Gudmundsson of Reykjavik, Iceland was among those recognized, earning himself a spot on the Second Team. To be considered for the award, athletes must possess a 3.0 or higher GPA and have completed one full year at the nominating institution. Sports information personnel, head coaches and an academic staff member form each institution then vote on the nominations to fill out the All-Academic Teams.
Gudmundsson, a sophomore, put forth a solid 74.22 average this season with a low round of 65. He also sports a solid 3.85 GPA as an engineering physics major at SFA.
