SFA at Bentwater Intercollegiate

• For its first meet in the state of Texas this season, the SFA men's golf team heads down to Montgomery, Texas, to take part in the Bentwater Intercollegiate.
• Sophomore Johannes Gudmundsson and Isiah Henderson were SFA's top finishers in the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Sept. 15-17. They finished in a tie for 34th at the event.
• Junior Steven Fabik is going for his second top-ten finish of the fall season after posting a sixth-place finish at the Golfweek Program Championship on Sept. 10.

• SFA was involved in its first true road games since the season-opening trip in Charleston, South Carolina this weekend, facing Lamar and McNeese in what amounted to very high level competitions. SFA will play four of its final six games on the road this season, including a test at Central Arkansas on Friday.
• A pair of Ladyjacks scored over the weekend, with each tallying her fourth goal of the season. Katelyn Termini pulled the Ladyjacks within one goal in the first half of Friday's tilt with Lamar, while Mattie Musser's 70th minute strike on Sunday broke a scoreless tie with McNeese, giving the 'Jacks a chance to secure three points atop the league standings.
• SFA is still in the conference tournament picture, sitting eighth in the league standings with six games left to play.
• In conference play, Madeline Talbot ranks third in the league in save percentage (.889) and fifth in goals-against-average (1.05).
• SFA's 18 goals as a team rank fourth in the Southland Conference this season. The 'Jacks also rank third in saves (68), save percentage (.773) and corner kicks (60).

SFA at Texas State Play Day

• The third of five fall events the Ladyjacks are set to compete in, Texas State's Play Day will see SFA head south to San Marcos, Texas, for the second-straight season.
• Last season at the Play Day, Gabi Guilarte notched two of SFA's five singles victories while Darinka Tiboldi and Armelle Cerdan picked up one apiece.

• Riding a nine-match winning streak, the Ladyjacks head to the Big Easy in order to try and remain unbeaten in Southland Conference action. SFA is set to take on New Orleans at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night before returning to Shelton Gym to begin a three-match homestead by hosting Abilene Christian Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
• In the latest edition of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division I Coaches Poll, the Ladyjacks are in the receiving votes section for the third-straight week. SFA picked up six votes in the latest edition of the poll.
• The NCAA released its first RPI rankings of the 2019 season Monday afternoon and SFA has checked in at number 37. That's the first top-40 ranking in the history of the program as well as the highest RPI ranking in program history.
• SFA has beaten seven top-100 RPI squads so far this season and is the only Southland Conference program with an RPI in the top 150.
• The Ladyjacks have won a nation-leading 22 consecutive sets and has tied the program record for consecutive sweeps (seven) after last Saturday's 3-0 victory at McNeese.
• Junior middle blocker Taya Mitchell leads the Southland and ranks third nationally in both blocks per set (1.64) and total blocks (97).
• Senior middle blocker Danae Daron has seen her attack percentage rise to a team-leading .404. That's the best attack percentage in the Southland as well as the 29th-best in the nation.
• SFA leads the Southland Conference in blocks per set (2.93), digs per set (17.37), hitting percentage (.251), opponent hitting percentage (.145) and total blocks (173).
• On the national scene, SFA ranks fourth in total blocks, seventh in blocks per set and 10th in opponent hitting percentage.
Women's Golf

• In the third of four fall events on its 2019-20 schedule, the Ladyjacks are in Las Cruces, N.M., to take part in the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational.
• Alexandra Batista and Karina Benavides are coming off top-20 finishes at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational (Sept. 30-Oct. 1).
