Ladyjacks ink second signee for 2019-20 season and beyond, welcome Munsch to Nacogdoches
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The reigning national champion Ladyjacks have signed their second newcomer for the 2019 class as the SFA bowling program announced the addition of Samantha Munsch Thursday afternoon. A native of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Munsch joins Lauren Tomaszewski of Lebanon, Illinois (O'Fallon Township High School), as the Ladyjacks' first two signees for the 2019-20 season and beyond.
A five-time junior bowler of the year by the Oshkosh Youth Bowling Association, Munsch has had an extensive varsity career at Oshkosh West High School. Both her freshman and sophomore seasons, Munsch was a first-place state qualifier for the Wisconsin High School Bowling Club and is a four-time Wisconsin High School All-Star Team qualifier and a three-time District 8A Individual Bowler of the Year. Leading the Wildcats to four consecutive District 8A conference championships, Munsch helped Oshkosh West to a fourth-place finish at the Wisconsin state tournament as a freshman in 2016.
Claiming a Junior Bowler Scholarship Tour tournament title during her sophomore campaign, Munsch was part of a Wildcat squad that placed fifth in the state. She was the runner-up for District 8A Individual Bowler of the Year as a junior in 2018 and placed 60th for the Junior Gold U20 division, while assisting Oshkosh West to a runner-up showing at the Wisconsin state tournament.
Munsch's senior year was highlighted by being named Wisconsin High School District 8A Individual Bowler of the Year for the third time, a fifth-place finish in singles at the Wisconsin High School Bowling Championships, a Oshkosh Youth City Tournament singles finalist medal and a Oshkosh Youth City Tournament team title. Averaging a game score of 217 for the 2018-19 season, Munsch rolled a high game of 289 and posted a series high of 761 en route to leading the Wildcats to their second-straight second-place finish at the state tournament.
Outside of her prep career, Munsch bowled competitively in four different leagues, including the Super Bowl Juniors Sport Shot League, Rev's Tuesday Sport Shot League and both Wednesday Trio's Spring and Summer League.
The daughter of Charly Boelter and Mark Munsch, Samantha intends to study Criminal Justice at SFA. Her mother, Charly Boelter, was a two-sport athlete at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she lettered in bowling and tennis.
