NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The last time the SFA track and field program had a chance to showcase their talents, they posted a dominant effort and brought home an indoor title to Nacogdoches. This weekend, they'll have a chance to do that and more at the 2019 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships in Natchitoches, La. The three-day event will be hosted at the Walter P. Ledet Track Complex beginning on Friday and running through Sunday.
The 'Jacks have had a strong outdoor season filled with a bevy of personal bests, program records and NCAA qualifying marks, and the time has come to turn in a similar performance on the conference stage. A total of 64 student-athletes will make the trip as the teams try for their first outdoor titles since the 2016-17 season, when the women captured the outdoor title.

The three-day meet will kick off on Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. with the running of the 10000m men's and women's final. Following that, the multis will open competition at 9:30 a.m, with the decathletes competing in five events on the day and the heptathletes, four. Competition in both combined events resumes on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m, followed by the running event trials at 2:00 p.m. and the field events at 3:00. Sunday morning's competition begins at 10:00 a.m and continues on throughout the morning and afternoon, before closing out with the 4x400 meter relays.
