Fans and supporters of SFA athletics can meet and greet the Ladyjack bowling team following their 2019 NCAA title won last week
NACOGDOCHES – For the first time since the SFA bowling team captured the school's second NCAA Division I team national championship last weekend in Ohio, fans and supports of the Ladyjacks can celebrate with the national champions. A national championship celebration for the bowling program will be held Tuesday, April 23 from 2:30-4 p.m. on the Dr. Baker Pattillo Student Center Plaza.
The national championship celebration will feature a meet and greet session with the Ladyjacks' coaches and bowlers, in addition to a formal program where the national champions will be recognized. Head coach Amber Lemke, interim university president Dr. Steve Westbrook and Ladyjack bowlers will address the crowd. SFA's 2019 NCAA Women's Bowling Championship trophy will also be on display and available to take photos with.
Last Saturday, the Ladyjacks defeated top-seeded and top-ranked Vanderbilt 4-1 in the NCAA title match in Wickliffe, Ohio, to capture their second NCAA championship in the last four years. The team will arrive back in Nacogdoches for the first time since claiming the national title this weekend following SFA's run at the United States Bowling Congress' (USBC) 2019 Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) in Dayton, Ohio, this week.
