Ware Shines For 'Jacks at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL -- The SFA men's basketball team got a 26-point showing from the bench, but fell 78-68 to the Alabama Crimson Tide on the road Friday.
SFA's overall record dropped to 7-2 with the defeat.
The 'Jacks had four players score in double figures, led by Cameron Johnson, who had 18 points, six rebounds and two steals. Roti Ware tacked on 13 points and four steals and John Comeaux chipped in as well with 13 points and four steals.
SFA grabbed 38 rebounds in Friday's game compared to Alabama's 33, led by seven boards from Kevon Harris. The 'Jacks also cleaned up the offensive glass, turning 15 rebounds into 11 second chance points.
SFA forced 20 Alabama turnovers while committing 19 themselves in Friday's game. The 'Jacks turned those takeaways into 21 points on the other end of the floor. Ware led the way individually with four steals.

GAME SUMMARY
After playing to a 5-5 tie, SFA went on a 6-0 run with 14:57 left in the first half to take an 11-5 lead. The 'Jacks then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 32-31.
Alabama kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 47-35 advantage before SFA went on a 7-0 run to shrink the deficit to 47-42 with 13:10 to go in the contest. Alabama responded and outscored the 'Jacks the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 78-68. SFA took care of business in the paint, recording 22 of its 37 points in the lane.
