NACOGDOCHES, TX -- The SFA men's basketball team scored 26 points off of turnovers on the way to a 96-68 win over the Houston Baptist Huskies at home Wednesday.
SFA moved to 9-2 overall and 1-0 in play following the victory.
The 'Jacks had three players score in double figures, led by Kevon Harris, who had 18 points and seven rebounds. Gavin Kensmil tacked on 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks and Charlie Daniels chipped in as well with 13 points and four blocks off the bench.
SFA out-rebounded Houston Baptist 48-35 in Wednesday's game, led by seven boards from Roti Ware. The 'Jacks also grabbed 16 offensive rebounds and scored 18 second chance points.
SFA's defense held Houston Baptist to only 33.3% shooting from the field. The 'Jacks also limited Ian DuBose to 4-of-14 shooting in the game.

GAME SUMMARY
After jumping out to a 28-20 advantage, SFA went on a 12-0 run with 6:59 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Kensmil, to increase its lead to 40-20. The 'Jacks then added two points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 48-26 advantage. SFA did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 30 of its 48 points close to the basket.
SFA kept its lead intact before going on a 12-0 run, finished off by Sama'Zha Hart's layup, to grow the lead to 70-40 with 12:10 to go in the contest. The Huskies narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the 'Jacks still cruised the rest of the way for the 96-68 win. SFA capitalized on 10 Houston Baptist turnovers in the period, collecting 15 points off those turnovers.
