'Jacks Stay Hot with Win over Arkansas State

JONESBORO, AR -- Kevon Harris collected 22 points and Gavin Kensmil added 20 and the SFA men's basketball team beat the Arkansas State Red Wolves 76-57 on the road Saturday.
The win improved SFA's overall record to 6-1.
Harris and Kensmil's stellar scoring performances led the 'Jacks in the contest. Harris tacked on five rebounds and Kensmil added 15 rebounds and two steals. Cameron Johnson also helped out with eight points and six rebounds.
SFA out-rebounded Arkansas State 42-39 in Saturday's game, led by Kensmil's 15 boards.
The SFA defense was a problem in Saturday's game, forcing 20 Arkansas State turnovers while committing 17. Those takeaways turned into 18 points on the other end of the floor. John Comeaux led the way individually for the 'Jacks with three steals.

GAME SUMMARY
After falling behind 22-14, SFA went on a 5-0 run with 6:42 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Kensmil, to narrow its deficit to 22-19. The 'Jacks then closed the rest of the gap and grabbed a 30-27 lead heading into halftime. SFA did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 18 of its 30 points close to the basket.
SFA started tacking on points in the second half almost immediately, going on a 12-0 run, finished off by Harris' three, to grow the lead to 42-27 with 17:19 to go in the contest. The 'Jacks kept expanding the margin and coasted the rest of the way for the 76-57 win. SFA took care of business in the paint, recording 30 of its 46 points in the lane.
