
Bennett and Yang Lead Ladyjacks During Day One of the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational

Day One Results
LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Freshman Sloane Bennett and sophomore Kelly Yang led the way for the SFA women's golf team during round one of the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational on Monday.
Bennett, a member of the five-woman squad, finished the day 5-over 77. Yang, competing as an individual for this event, matched her score for the round. The two are sitting tied for 27th place.
The team as a whole finished the round in 15th place out of 17 teams with a score of 32-over 320. The Ladyjacks sit just ten strokes behind a top ten spot and 11 strokes behind conference foe, Incarnate Word, the only other Southland squad participating in the event.
Senior Alexandra Batista (6-over 78) and freshman Karina Benavides (7-over 79) follow just behind Yang and Bennett in the standings, sitting tied for 41st and tied for 56th respectively.
Sophomore Zayda Cedillo (14-over 84), senior Paola Cortes (17-over 89), and freshman Kate Dishman (10-over 82) round off the seven-lady roster for the event.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. for round two of the tournament.
