Lumberjacks are third out of the four Southland teams competing
Day One Results
MONTGOMERY, Texas - Junior Steven Fabik leads the Lumberjacks through two rounds shooting 2-over 146. Fabik is tied for 13th and is two strokes back from fellow Southland member Noah Steele of Sam Houston State.
The Lumberjacks (18-over 594) sit at 6th place in the standings after day one, seven strokes ahead of Southland rival Houston Baptist, who are currently 8th place in the nine-team tournament. Abilene Christian (9-over 585) is sitting tied for first and Sam Houston State (11-over 587) follow right behind them in third place.
Junior Justin Benson and sophomore Alec Brown join Fabik in the top 20, each shooting 5-over 149 and tied for 19th place in the 60-man field.
Sophomore duo Isiah Henderson (10-over 154) and Johannes Gudmundsson (12-over 156) are tied for 39th and 47th respectively.
Redshirt junior Austin McKinney (14-over 158) is competing as an individual for this event.
The Lumberjacks tee off at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday for the final round of the event.
