JONESBORO, Ark. - Junior Justin Benson found himself tied for fourth place after two rounds of the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate Monday. He is currently 4-under 140 heading into the final round and is competing as an individual for this event.
The Lumberjacks (31-over 607) sit in 12th place after improving their round one score by 9 strokes. They finished the day 17 strokes ahead of Southland rival Southeastern Louisiana.
Sophomore Isiah Henderson (5-over 149) and junior Maxime Leclerc (6-over 150) led the way for the 5-man Lumberjack squad sitting tied for 33rd and 37th respectively.
Freshman Jake Smelser (15-over 159) made his Lumberjack debut and improved his round one score by five strokes to finish the day tied for 65th.
Junior Steven Fabik (8-over 152) and Sophomore Jacob Garcia (12-over 156) also made the trip to Jonesboro.
The first Lumberjack will tee-off at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday on hole 10 at the Ridgepointe Country Club.
