Lautensack Up to Seven Birdies After Round Two of ORU Lady Maxwell

SFA notches team score of 314 in second round of tournament

ARDMORE, Okla. -- Erica Lautensack tied for the team lead with a second-round 78 and continues to hold a spot in the top-ten among the field at the ORU Lady Maxwell event after day two of competition. The senior is also tied for the second most birdies of any golfer in the field, with seven through two rounds, and sits at 148 (+6) heading into the final round tomorrow.
The 'Jacks carded a team score of 314 strokes and finished the day in seventh place with one round left to play. Freshman Alexis Szewczyk also notched a 78, and sits tied for 21st with a 12-over-par 154. Junior Alexandra Batista also sits tied for 21st with a 154 (+12), having carded an 80 in the second round.
A strong second round performance was had by junior Paola Cortes, who sits tied for 43rd with a 163 (+12). Cortes started the day tied for 49th and moved up six places after carding a second-round 78. Senior Jamee Jorgensen rounded out the Ladyjack's starting five sitting tied for 48th place with a 168 (+26), and notched an 87 on the day.
A trio of individuals also competed for SFA, as sophomore Kelly Yang carded an 81 to finish tied for 43rd at 163 (+21),freshman Zayda Cedillo shot an 82 and sits at 166 (+24), and freshman Lyndy Laurrell carded a 92 and currently sits at 172 (+30).
Laurrell and Cedillo will tee off first for the Ladyjacks tomorrow as a pair, leading off on hole ten at 8:00, followed ten minutes later by a group including Kelly Yang. Jamee Jorgensen will tee off at 8:20, followed by Paola Cortes at 8:30. Alexis Szewczyk begins her round at 8:40, Alexandra Batista tees off at 8:50, and Erika Lautensack will tee off at the top of the hour with two other golfers.
