
Nineteen SFA Student-Athletes Earn Degrees at Summer Commencement Ceremony

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The SFA alumni base - a group that stands at over 110,000 strong - grew larger Saturday morning during the institutions summer commencement exercise held inside the walls of William R. Johnson Coliseum.
Present at the ceremony were 19 former SFA Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks who represented eight of the institution's 17 NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic teams. Of the 19, football had the greatest number of individuals walk across the stages to accept their degrees (six), followed closely by baseball (four including one master's degree presentation).
Three members of the 'Jacks' men's track & field team took part in the ceremony as did two former women's track & field student-athletes. One representative each from men's basketball, soccer, softball and women's golf collected bachelor's degrees as well.
