‘Jacks sign quartet, bring incoming 2018 class to five with addition of Johannes Gudmundsson, Trent Lutze, Jacob Garcia and Alec Brown
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Head coach Trey Schroeder and assistant coach Daniel DeLuca announced the signing of four new additions to the Stephen F. Austin men's golf team Friday afternoon. Johannes Gudmundsson, Trent Lutze, Jacob Garcia and Alec Brown have each recently inked their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to compete for the Lumberjacks, bringing SFA's 2018 signing class to five as the quartet joins Isiah Henderson, who was an early signee this past November.
"We are excited that all four of these young men have signed to become a Lumberjack, along with Isiah Henderson in the fall," commented coach Schroeder. "It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know Johannes, Trent, Jacob and Alec over the recruiting process. Coach DeLuca and I see a lot of competitiveness and leadership qualities in this group, which should help us right away next year. I am equally excited about all of the positive feedback we received from parents, coaches and friends about the character of each one of these young men. I look forward to watching these players make their mark on the Lumberjack golf program over their careers."
Gudmundsson will be coming to Texas' oldest town from Reykjavik, Iceland, where he has been a standout amateur golfer.
