
Bowling Announces Signing of Lauren Tomaszewski

Ladyjacks welcome talented bowler from Illinois as first signee of 2019 class
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Tuesday afternoon head coach Amber Lemke announced the addition of Lauren Tomaszewski to the SFA bowling team as the Ladyjacks' first signee of their 2019 class. Tomaszewski, a native of Lebanon, Illinois, will arrive in Nacogdoches after an impressive prep career at O'Fallon Township High School.
A four-year varsity letter winner, Tomaszewski is a member of three youth tours, including competing on the Metro East Youth Scholarship Tour, Southern Illinois Youth Scholarship Tour, Illinois State Scholarship Tour and Northwest Indiana Junior Tournament Players Association Tour. Named third-team all-conference as a freshman, Tomaszewski led O'Fallon Township to a regional crown, third-place finish at sectionals and a 24th-place showing at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) state tournament in 2015-16 while bowling the second-highest game in the IHSA Southwestern Conference.
Helping the Panthers to fourth place at the IHSA state tournament after runner-up finishes at both regionals and sectionals, Tomaszewski highlighted her sophomore campaign in 2016-17 with the top high game and high series at the Viking Invite after claiming fifth-place showings at the Triad Invite and Abe Lincoln Invite. Named second-team all-conference, Tomaszewski bowled the third-highest game in the in the IHSA Southwestern Conference.
As a junior in 2017-18, Tomaszewski aided O'Fallon Township back to a fourth-place finish at the IHSA state tournament after winning both sectionals and regionals, in addition to earning team titles in four out of five tournaments. Individually, Tomaszewski was named Southern Illinois High School Girls Bowler of the Year, Metro East Youth Scholarship Tour Girls Scratch Bowler of the Year and first-team all-conference, taking home six Metro East Youth Scholarship Tour titles, placing 14th at the Teen Masters, averaging a 183 at the Junior Gold Championships and posting several first-place game and series highs.
In her senior year, which will be continued in the spring, Tomaszewski has already led the Panthers to the Triad Invite team title where she earned individual game and series highs. The daughter of Kelly and Dan Tomaszewski, Lauren anticipates studying animal science/pre-veterinary at SFA.
The Ladyjacks have the remainder of the fall and the first part of the winter off from competition before returning to tournament play Friday-Sunday, Jan. 11-13 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for Arkansas State's Mid-Winter Invitational.
