Ljubic Ends Run at ITA Texas Regionals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - SFA senior tennis player Kaja Ljubic saw her run in the ITA Texas Regionals come to an end with a consolation bracket semifinal round setback to Sam Houston State's Lusine Chobanyan.
Ljubic made sure she would be one of the final four players standing in the consolation bracket by taking down Texas State's Josefina Cassara in the quarterfinal round by a 6-1, 6-2 tally.
In the semifinal match, Ljubic was forced to retire, giving Chobanyan the win by default. Chobanyan defeated SFA's Vera Carvalho 6-0, 6-3 in the consolation bracket round of 16 and in order to face Ljubic in the consolation bracket quarterfinal Cassara got by the Ladyjacks' Kyndall Misak in the round of 16.
SFA returns to fall action Saturday when the Ladyjacks travel south to San Marcos, Texas, in order to compete in the Texas State Invitational.
