Men’s Golf 12th Through Round One at Duck Commander Intercollegiate

‘Jacks shoot 31-over 319 on day one of play at the Duck Commander Intercollegiate, Angelo Leyvani tied for ninth after tallying a 3-over 75
EL DORADO, Ark. – Through one round of play at Louisiana-Monroe's Duck Commander Intercollegiate at the Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas, the Stephen F. Austin men's golf team sits in 12th place. The Lumberjacks combined to shoot a 31-over 319 on the par-72, 7,289 golf course on day one of play.
The host Warhawks lead the event after totaling a 14-over 302 Sunday in chilly morning conditions, while 59th-ranked Arkansas State is in second place with a 15-over 303 and Western Kentucky third after posting a 17-over 305.
SFA has one golfer on the top-10 leaderboard in junior Angelo Leyvani (San Antonio, Texas), who shot a 3-over 75 on the first day to sit tied for ninth among 66 total golfers. True freshman Steven Fabik (Carrollton, Texas) recorded a 6-over 78 Sunday and is tied for 28th as fellow freshman Max Kettler (Southlake, Texas) is tied for 46th after shooting a 9-over 81.
Senior Blake Stock (Hewitt, Texas) is tied for 59th on the leaderboard after registering a 13-over 85 in the first round, while freshman Andy Lopez (Dallas, Texas) rounds out the 'Jacks in 65th place with a 15-over 87 round one score.
Patrick Cover of 57th-ranked UNC-Wilmington shot a 2-under 70 in the opening round and has the lead, followed by Louisiana-Monroe's Hogan Arey and Eastern Kentucky's Erik Lindwall, who are tied for second with even-par 72's.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will continue tomorrow with the second round starting at 8:30 a.m. SFA is paired with fellow Southland Conference members Southeastern Louisiana and Houston Baptist for Monday's play as players will tee off from hole No. 10 every 10 minutes starting at 8:30 a.m.
The third and final round Tuesday will feature a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
